Taxes and export

Open Taxes and choose a tax year. The tab uses your saved shifts for that year and shows:

  • Annual business miles and an Est. standard mileage amount, with the applicable rate periods.
  • Per-vehicle business miles, placed-in-service dates, available starting and ending odometer readings, and total miles.
  • The miles left over after business miles, grouped as commuting and other personal miles.
  • Miles and shift counts by app and by month.
  • GPS and hand-added miles, plus the count of GPS shifts with corrected miles.

Only vehicles with shifts in the year appear in the summary. Records with no assigned or available vehicle go in No vehicle.

A multi-app shift counts in full under every selected app. By-app totals overlap and are not an allocation of miles between apps.

Missing or inconsistent odometer readings need your attention. Check your vehicle readings before using the yearly totals.

Orphie uses corrected business miles and the rate period for the shift’s start date. It does not split a shift at midnight. The current Taxes rate table covers 2024 through 2026. Taxes does not show dollar estimates for other years.

A deduction can lower taxable income if you qualify. The estimate is not cash, a refund, or tax saved. Orphie does not decide whether miles qualify, separate commuting from other personal use, or file your taxes. Ask a qualified tax professional about your records and eligibility.

  1. In Taxes, choose the year you need.
  2. Tap Export for your CPA.
  3. Choose a destination in your phone’s share sheet.

Orphie shares the year’s PDF and CSV together. There is no format picker. A year with no saved records has no export button. Export is also unavailable while the data is loading, an error blocks it, or another export is in progress.

The PDF contains mileage summaries, rate periods, per-vehicle workpaper values, a shift table, and mileage-correction history. It includes original GPS miles when present. The CSV contains the shift ledger and subtotals. It does not repeat all the PDF’s tables.

These are workpapers, not completed IRS forms. The PDF labels Schedule C Part IV lines 43 and 44a, but does not complete the other vehicle questions or split commuting from other personal miles.

The workpaper’s primary text is English. With a non-English app language, the PDF adds translated secondary labels. The CSV is not fully translated.

CPA exports do not include route maps, route coordinates, a separate note field, dwell records, or complete non-mileage correction history. Use Export all data for those raw records.

Open Settings › Export all data to share one ZIP of records across all years. This is separate from the selected-year CPA export.

The ZIP includes shifts, notes, route coordinates, stationary intervals, complete correction histories, vehicles, odometer readings, apps, summaries, and a JSON copy of the records. It also includes archived vehicles, replaced odometer readings, and custom or hidden apps.

Choose where to save or send the file in your phone’s share sheet. Orphie does not automatically upload it to a CPA or cloud service.

Orphie does not yet offer app-managed backup, restore, or device sync. There is no import flow to put an exported ZIP back into the app. The ZIP also does not contain your theme, language, or onboarding preferences.

A compatible share destination may let you save a file to cloud storage. Orphie does not manage that destination or restore records from it. Keep copies you need before deleting records or changing phones.
