Log a shift

Start

1. Open Drive.
2. Choose one vehicle.
3. Select the apps you are driving for. You can select several. If you select none, the shift is labeled Unassigned.
4. Tap Start shift.

Recording starts without a countdown or confirmation. If location access is missing, the phone asks for permission. The driving screen shows business miles, active shift time, an estimated deduction, and location status.

Orphie keeps logging while you use other apps. Selected app names label the whole shift. Orphie does not detect app switches or divide miles between apps.

Pause for personal driving

Tap Pause before a personal detour. Location turns off completely. Orphie records no miles or route while paused, and active shift time stops. You do not need to enter a pause reason.

Tap Resume to record again. The route starts a new segment. No line connects the route across the pause gap.

End

Tap End shift to open the review screen.

Ending while recording does not turn location off immediately. Orphie keeps a temporary stretch of location data until the first of these limits:

• You have been parked continuously for 2 minutes.
• 10 minutes have passed since you tapped End.

If you tap End while paused, location stays off. Ending from Pause does not restart it.

Resume or save

Choose Resume shift if you need to keep driving for the same shift. Inside the End window, Resume joins the temporary stretch to the shift. After the window closes, Resume keeps only the stretch captured before the cutoff and starts a new segment. It cannot recover driving after the cutoff.

Choose Save shift when the shift is finished. Save turns location off and discards the temporary stretch after End. Your saved record keeps the miles and time from when you tapped End.

Review before saving

Check the following items on the review screen:

• Business miles and active shift time. Miles are read-only here. Correct miles in the Log after saving if needed.
• The route and stop dots. Stops come from stationary periods longer than 3 minutes, not confirmed deliveries or named places.
• The stop count. Adjust the count with the buttons or enter a number from 0 to 999.
• The description. Orphie drafts it from your apps and stop count. Edit it to describe the work you did.
• An optional note.

Start and end cities appear in the draft only if you turn on City names in descriptions and the lookup succeeds. The setting is off by default. Read what city lookup sends.

Tap Save shift to save the record on your phone and return to Drive.

Remove an accidental shift

There is no Discard button while driving or reviewing. Tap End shift, then Save shift. Open Log and delete the saved shift.
